Lafayette Transitional Housing Center is
excited to announce that we will be a part of the state-wide 5K Walk
“Homeward Bound.” All over Indiana, people will unite to fight
homelessness by participating in this fundraising and awareness effort
on Sunday, April 10th.
Walks will not only be conducted here in Lafayette, but also in
Bloomington, Evansville, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Jeffersonville,
Michigan City, and South Bend. The goal is $50,000 ($10,000 for each
agency). All money raised will go directly to the local organizations.
Our local walk will start at Riehle Plaza at 2 p.m. Registration begins
at 12 noon. Both our Singles Facility and Lincoln Center will be two of
the rest stops along the route. We will also pass by CFRC, Habitat and
NAMI so walkers can get a good look at the agencies they’re supporting.
Walk individually or form a team. Registration is now open. Use the
website www.homelesswalks.org to sign up, or call LTHC and we’ll send
you a paper pledge form. Be sure to designate Lafayette Transitional
Housing Center to receive your funds. If you have questions or
need more information, please call 423-4880.

Bingo Extravaganza benefits Lafayette Transitional
Housing Center. This is one of our two fundraisers each year. This fundraiser
helps us to continue to provide housing and supportive services to the homeless
in our community. In
the first year we raised over $25,000, which allowed us to do some major
renovations to three of our Family Program group homes. Bingo night
consists of the usual Bingo game, a silent auction, and games of pull tabs
available all evening. The next Bingo fundraiser will be August 23, 2007. To
get a ticket,
donate an item for the silent auction, or be a cooperate sponsor please call
765-423-4880.
